This winter saw the abrupt end of Christina and Swaim Hutson’s label Obedient Sons & Daughters after troubles with their financial backer.  However, the Hutsons bounce back quickly.  The married design team has launched new label Hutson, which gives them more freedom in the design process.  It is no surprise that Hutson is fairly similar to Obedient Sons.  However, the Hutsons are slowly moving away from the slim silhouette they are known for by incorporating oversize and elongated pieces.  As Tim Blanks eloquently expressed, the Hutsons’ work with both drastic silhouettes is representative of a “decadent duality of outsize masculine outerwear concealing a flamboyant inner heart.”
