Arne & Carlos Fall 2009

Written by Carl on Tuesday, March 31st, 2009 | 2009, arne & carlos, fall, fall 2009, lookbooks/presentations

Scandinavian influences lend Norway based label Arne & Carlos its distintive edge. Behind the label are Arne Nerjordet and Carlos Zachrison. The duo bring their experience together to craft affectious knitwear that blends their creative vision with the old age techniques of generations before them. Each Arne & Carlos piece begins its journey at the creative direction of Nerjordet and Zachrison before being crafted in Peru by respected artisans known for their long history of excellence. Although the garments are made both by hand and machine, each garment is finished by hand before making its way out to shops all over the world. Perhaps one of these pieces will find its way into your wardrobe this upcoming fall.

Bibi Chemnitz Fall 2009

Written by Carl on Tuesday, March 31st, 2009 | 2009, bibi chemnitz, fall, fall 2009, lookbooks/presentations

Denmark label Bibi Chemnitz was founded in 2006. Behind the label are Greenland native Bibi Chemnitz and David Røgilds. What started out as a collection of hoodies has expanded into a diverse growing range of clothing. Influential to the Bibi Chemnitz label is Chemnitz’s Nordic heritage. As Røgilds explained, “Inspiration for the AW09 collection is the raw Nordic forest and the animals. We have also tried to give the styles the names of animals that [best] represent the style in shape, color or way of behaving.” Perhaps, it is the survivalist instinct of animals that gives birth to the subtle use of quilting as a wearable shell. Lending the collection character, the quilting stands out in a minimal yet aesthetically pleasing fashion. This upcoming August, Bibi Chemnitz will be stocked at ASOS.

“Steal” – Soulland Spring 2009

Written by Carl on Tuesday, March 31st, 2009 | 2009, Spring 2009, lookbooks/presentations, soulland, spring

Bringing streetwear to a new level with fashionable proportions, the spring collection from Soulland is cool, blue, and unaffected. Chic and sleek, the collection moves from agressive simplicity to zen like heights with elongated oversize proportions. Somehow, the relaxed collection finds the harmonious balance between urban wear and the high streets of fashion.
