Comme des Garçons Spring 2010

Barring no color and borrowing from previous Comme des Garçons seasons, Rei Kawakubo sent another powerful collection down the runway. Interspersing the man’s relaxed suit with a shorter version of her signature pleated skirt, the perfect proportions we have grown accustomed to were achieved. Creative patchwork incorporated varied prints and color into each piece, while hanging crocheted ornaments and brightly patched pants added an Oriental element to the collection. Overall, the whole affair was typical for Comme des Garçons, never breaking from the mold. Perhaps Kawakubo subscribes to the school of thought saying–”if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.” What do you think?

  3. I totally agree…If its not broke, DON’T fix it. Comme des garcons is famous for being original and who they are. I absolutely love this collection. I love the use of color, but like the fact that its not in every single look. I love the pants and the lenghts. I love the proportions. Everything just works so great.
