For the spring 2010 season, Damir Doma impresses with an intelligent collection of finely edited garments that allow the body to breathe. Inspired by nature and aiming for a harmonious balance between body and soul, or in this case body and cloth, Doma took to hues of red, white and black to paint his airy dream of draped silhouettes. Minimalist in nature, Doma refined his signature draping this season by toning it back, instead focusing on the interaction between materials. Light-weight and sheer, slim-silhouetted pieces form the collection’s core, while oversize outerwear acts as a modern shell of protection. Black and white are reliable colors, but it is Doma’s use of red where he really excels. Taking the color that we as men are reported to recognize first when developing, Doma peppers a collection with vibrant life and difference. Damir Doma and his work stand out from the pack in a way that is organic and exceedingly refreshing.
WOW!!! The red!! It’s so striking! And yes it is much more structured than his last outings…It’s not a balance of commercialistic pandering and art/good design, it’s simply amazing design that is also highly desirable, just like the other great design of modern history (think Red and Blue Chair).
