Kostas Murkudis Fall 2009

Kostas Murkudis’ fall collection packs a strong punch. Breaking away from the pack with his use of unconventional materials, the Berlin-based designer turns to both anti-fit and slim silhouettes paired with a translucent quality for an out of this world look. In rebelling against the norm, what initially appears cold and distant is actually quite human in concept. Filling the void of needing to be different, the collection’s outerwear offers protection and while its unorthodox features might keep people at bay, its revealing nature invites those same people in for a closer look. Its a constant tug of war between mystery, intrigue and an exploration of the unfamiliar. Altogether thought provoking, Kostas Murkudis pushes to redefine practicality, while re-imagining the necessities of man.

clever play on proportions with some annoying, albeit on-trend see-through plastic. huh.

Lovely colors! The silhouette, although fresh needs a certain body shape and height to pull off.
