Color and emotion are central to the story that Robert Geller has in store for spring 2010. Known for his genius use of color, Geller turned to German artist Michael Sowa for inspiration. Using color in a meaningful way that elicits strong emotions, the collection contrasts electric blue, mustard yellow, cobalt and purple against black and white for an effect that is empowering. Geller does not dabble in color, but jumps in head first, dressing his garments in vivid hues that stand apart from a sea of safe choices. Evoking both regal and serene sentiments, Geller’s color palette lends the collection a life of its own.  Taking on the layering of shorts and leggings, the collection takes firm grasp of an existing trend and adds it to the ever evolving storyline of Geller. Reinterpreting past ventures, stripes find themselves once again in heavy use.  Meanwhile, tulle adorns airy layers of  waistcoats, tees and jackets that reaffirm the vision of a man with stylish options. Altogether, the collection is quite current-finding the medium to both loose and fitted proportions, while maintaining the integrity of Robert Geller’s established aesthetic.

  1. Genius styling and color combination. You’re right the colours and casual feel do evoke some emotion (somewhere between romantic and gothic). All pieces are very wearable and look good if styled properly. Thank you Carl for featuring this; simply my fav SS10 collection!
