Model of the Month | Will by Claudia Goetzelmann

Taking a look through Will Lewis’ portfolio, we come to a shoot photographed by Claudia Goetzelmann in 2005. Will had just returned to San Francisco after walking a couple shows in Europe and was not sure about how he wanted to proceed with modeling. Claudia and Lewis had met that same year and decided to spend a day together shooting. “Discussing life in large and small” in between takes, the images easily became what Claudia refers to as “studies of that person. It’s almost an intimate experience…I love when that happens…When I can connect with my subject and we both open up and give ourselves to create fab images…it’s when the magic happens.” That very day translated into photos that modeling agents liked enough to put in Will’s book. Now almost five years later, Will and Claudia met up in the same Candlestick Park to do another shoot that is going to be published in the next issue of Chaos Mag, out January. Will added that “it’s really nice to see the progression like that, almost scientifically tested using the same method five years and the results are clearly even better the second time! It’s heartening, for sure.”
