B Store is known for their house brand of innovative shoes, but this coming spring, they will bring that same innovation to menswear.  If the layering featured in the lookbook images do not give you styling ideas, the individual pieces themselves are sure to inspire.  The two standout pieces happen to be bottoms.  The first pair as featured in the first picture have a wide silhouette with pleats that taper down, while the second pair feature are somewhere in the middle with a structured foot.  Be sure to keep this countryside inspired collection in mind for your personal spring lookbook.

Johnny Love Spring 2009

DOUBLE-TAKE.

Precaution: I get sidetracked when I get excited.

Take a quick glance and you might miss the fine details that designer, John Vinnem’s latest collection offers.  At first, I thought that I was just seeing double, but that is definitely not the case.  You see…I’ve had enough Starbucks for two today. The Johnny Love spring collection is all about paying attention to the fine details.  I had to do a double-take and that is when I realized the genius of this collection.  This collection features both pants and shorts with a double set of loops and buttons as well as a double buckled belt.  Another key detail is the look of a dual layer on the sleeves of the button-ups.  Don’t forget the rolled up sleeves on the short sleeved shirts.  This collection inspires me to go against things I dislike.  Dressed down, I do not like tucked in shirts, but the waist details would be a crime to cover.  Not to mention that the henleys and shorts make for the perfect beach day.  Did I mention that I do not like going to the beach?  Oh well, there is always room for change–but not physical room in my closet.  Maybe, it is time to do some early spring cleaning.

Creatures of the Wind Spring 2009

Surely, I was not going to stop at a Fashionisto Pick.  Creatures of the Wind has far too much to offer: “Creatures of the Wind is a young line based in Chicago, IL. The collection is small, special, and focused. Extremely high production quality is the base, and it’s a vital component of the minimalist discourse the designers have engaged in. Their system and structure build incrementally to produce infinite variations on a given theme.” (SUC) For their spring collection, oversized meets slim and finds a mutual balance.  The collection also features crisp clean colors, pointed collars, excessive dropped crotches, above the knee shorts, and cropped jackets. The elements give way to the convergence of a stock photographer and adventurer on a safari.

Wayne Hadly Spring 2009

Wayne Joffe, the designer of Wayne Hadly hinted earlier in our fall feature about what the spring had in store and now the cat is out of the bag. Quite an impressive cat at that! The spring collection features slim bowties, sharp angles, collarless button-ups, and plenty of airy singlets.  Fall could not come soon enough, but now spring is looking rather delectable.

“This SS09 started out as a kinda 60’s lost in Italy (best reference would be the movie “The Talented Mr. Ripley). I played with bright colors and classic fits to revamp and modernize that traditional look.”

- Wayne Joffe
