Fall merchandise is trickling into several stores and I cannot wait to see the bulk of it.  There are so many excellent collections this season.  I’ve been considering the purchase of a bag from the Raf Simons x Eastpak collaboration and it’s definitely going to happen this season.  The pricing of the first collection was astronomical, but as you can see by the pricing on Matches, the prices are now much more appropriate.

Looks like the Raf Simons/Eastpak collaboration is not ending anytime soon. Selectism posted pictures of the new spring 2009 collection. I like that when compared to the previous collections, these bags are more understated. Here is the post for the fall collection.

Consistently innovative and on the cusp of new trends, Raf Simons is at work again. Yet again, Raf Simons manages to distinguish his brand from the mindless clones.  His own collection surpasses the collection he put together for Jil Sander.  In a sea of clothes that often seemed to heavy for the spring, Raf’s clothes are quite light and offer a unique perspective.  The Raf Simons spring 2009 collection includes severe sharp cuts, v-necks, gradients, graphic prints, and broad shoulders. These elements work well together and create a collection that definitely screams Raf, but is anything but tired.  A definite highlight would be his new black and white boots.  Spring 2009 will not be complete without a pair.

Lately, Dr. Martens has been collaborating with high fashion designers.  Their last collaboration was with Yohji Yamamoto.  Announced at the Bread & Butter show (Barcelona clothing fair), this time they are collaborating with Raf Simons.  These shoes will be available for spring 2009.  The third pair of shoes; a hybrid of boots and sandals, is revolting yet intriguing at the same time.  I’ll have to check those out.

Here are more detailed pictures of the fall winter 2008 Raf Simons/Eastpak collaboration. The pricing of the spring/summer collection was outrageous. I hope the pricing of this collection comes down. That top bag on the right is looking good. It’s nice, simple, and understated, but detailed and unique at the same time.
