Always appreciative of the intimate relationship between music and fashion, April77 turns to American youth in the late 1980’s for inspiration this season. Honing in on the growing music scene of Portland and Seattle that included grunge and hardcore, April77 highlights an androgynous fashion that ultimately was the anti-fashion. Taking the motto “It’s cool to be not cool” to heart, the range takes a vintage vibe and turns out well-worn tops, sweaters and outerwear. Among the fray is also a Native American inspiration that looks to translate an Americana past into nostalgic wear. Altogether, the collection takes its laid-back attitude and in an equally fitting way, remains dedicated to using natural fabrics, maintaining April77 as a cruelty-free label.

“Youthful Abandon” – April77 Spring 2010
Clean and modest, spring 2010 is shaping up to be quite the laid-back season for French label, April 77. Abandoning fall’s impressive Navajo motif, the spring preview hints at the charm and style found in simple basic pieces that are often overlooked. With denim and solid no-fuss tees at the core, it’s very James Dean and easy to love. Only time will tell what else April77 has in store for us…
