Approaching the spring season with a laid-back attitude, DAY Birger et Mikkelsen shows their clothes a little tough love. Entitled “Shipwrecked”, the range consists of casual garments modeled after the idea of a well-worn wardrobe washing up on shore with great creases and weathered seams. Here, clean crisp primary colors meet relaxed silhouettes that stress a season of great accessibility.

Tobias Sørensen and Missy Rayder steal a few moments of alone time in the most recent Day Birger et Mikkelsen fall 2009 campaign styled by Karin Smeds and photographed by Hasse Nielsen. The campaign was photographed last December in a cold warehouse building just outside the center of Copenhagen. Romantic, no? Okay, more like brrrrrrrr…

Day Birger et Mikkelsen turns to the musician on the pursuit of fame as muse for their latest fall collection. Working off the premise of only wearing clothes a musician can carry in addition to clothes that can easily go from day to night, the collection is fashionably washed and worn out. However, charcoal, chocolate and navy keep the range classically cool, while leather, velvet and corduroy add a luxurious appeal. Whether it is hustling to make your dreams come true or sitting behind a desk in an office, Day Birger et Mikkelsen has the garments to maintain the look of a star.

Copenhagen based label, Day Birger et Mikkelsen adds another collection to their arsenol with their “High Summer” collection. The collection picks up smoothly where the last one left off, moving from beige dominated pieces to a cool blue and gray monochromatic color palette. The jackets are lighter and the shorts get shorter, but the effortless chic attributes remain. A standout is the denim inspired jacket and shorts number. Perhaps they are too much together, but they have the potential to be versatile stylish pieces when separated. This idea is true of most of the collection that boasts easy to integrate pieces.
