Carefully navigating the fashion landscape, the latest collection from Diesel Black Gold curates a fine selection of garments that fall in line with what’s current. Appealing to a diverse audience, Diesel approaches the edgy segments with a fitted look, while looser silhouettes gear themselves to the bohemian at heart. Meanwhile, a western motif forms a middle ground as deconstruction channels an inner Gothic flair.

Diesel Black Gold is growing up and if the demeanor of their models is indicative of anything, it is best that you are prepared to do the same. Taking to the two-piece suit as the main priority, the collection boasts an air of maturity and sophistication. However, there are no radical changes at work here. The Diesel Black Gold line still knows how to have fun by implementing bright playful colors such as cheery yellow, while also adding elements of the dirty gritty aesthetic they are synonymous with. All in all, not bad–just enough to wet the sartorial appetite.
Creative director Wilbert Das is breaking new ground with Diesel. During an economic crunch, it is more crucial than ever for labels to remain relevant and reach out to a diverse audience. Enter Diesel Black Gold and Das’ recessionisto who has fallen on hard times. Das takes the contemporary Diesel image driven by denim and updates it with a throwback to the jazz era. Utilizing derby hats to set the mood, the collection includes pieces that appear stained, aged and broken down. Constantly on the move, the Diesel man layers his attire, carries an oversize bag and is prepared for all situations.
