Dressing their man with a certain care that exudes an old-age charm, Filippa K devotes their energy to the tailored suit this season. Encompassing both elements of formal and informal, the collection infuses today’s silhouettes with a timeless elegance. Based in the colors of autumn, colors as varied as purple and green work well to accent core grays that much like the collection are inviting of a diverse audience who seek a grounded sophistication.
Looking to the recent past for inspiration, Filippa K found the relaxed theme of their spring collection in the easygoing style of 1980’s Florida. Combining pre-washed fabrics with laid-back breathable separates, the upbeat collection enjoys a bright infusion of color. Meanwhile, relaxed suiting and accessible garments dressed in nautical stripes as well as gingham solidify a chic casualness.
The fall collection from Filippa K is exactly what we have to come expect from the Swedish label. The range is all encompassing, providing looks for casual and formal situations, all with expert tailoring and a certain appropriateness. Although simple in nature, this fall’s collection ties into a larger theme. This season, Filippa K is inspired by the lyrics of an Australian songwriter by the name of Paul Kelly. Moved by a song entitled “From little things big things grow”, the season has come to represent From within, a collection of the people, places and other subjects that have inspired Filippa K, while Untitled by offers a forum where artists will showcase their Filippa K related projects.
After much buzz, Filippa K has released their fall 2009 campaign in its entirety. Photographed by Patrik Sehlstedt and styled by Robert Rydberg, the campaign featuring Sara Blomqvist and Mattias Bergh was shot at Playa de Las Catedrales.
