Inspired by director Ingmar Bergman’s film The Seventh Seal, Hope designers Ann Ringstrand and Stefan Söderberg come together to craft an understated collection that gives life to the cold and barren. Looking to black and navy accented by an off-white winter, hood details and leather trousers are used to restructure the classics. While army boots and snow parkas reference the past, crinkled wool and leather are patched together for a rugged sense of luxury. Modeled after a game of chess between the film’s protagonist, a medieval knight and death himself, a checkered pattern makes a final impression that also embodies fall’s collection–one of great substance, thought and care.
Hope Spring 2010

Hope designers Ann Ringstrand and Stefan Söderberg have a simple story in mind for next year’s spring season. With a focus on fashion that is current, yet uncomplicated, the design duo presented a functional collection of tailored separates. The core pieces of menswear were broken down to meet a criteria best described as relaxed sophistication. The collection revolved around the idea of individual pieces that work on their own merits. A cropped tuxedo jacket and shirts, elongated and wrinkled played with the traditional idea of sophistication, while baggy shorts and relaxed suiting had a contemporary appeal. Overall, Hope’s spring collection is next season’s answer to a style that is effortless and unaffected.
Worker Chic – Hope Fall 2009
Hope’s fall collection conveys a sense of urgency. The colors are basic, the silhouettes are traditional, and the only accessory seen is an apron. Although minimalist, this collection includes all the pieces a man needs in his wardrobe (trousers, sweaters, blazers, coats, and tops). Unusually somber, Hope’s fall collection is about security, fortitude, and ultimately longevity.
