Recently reunited, music group Take That turns to House of Holland’s tartan to put the finishing touch on their Circus Tour.

Known for making a splash on the runway with vivid prints and colors, designer Henry Holland, in a subtle fashion turns the dial down for this collection. Pink and purple might pop, but the graphic element is not as bold as previous seasons. Besides the use of color blocking, Holland playfully employs house shapes for spring’s prominent print. With a few pair of attention-seeking shorts and sleeveless shirting options, the House of Holland man is ready for spring.

Henry Holland’s spring collection is inspired by the original television series Beverly Hills 90210. I doubt Brandon or Dylan would be a fan of the floral prints, so I think it is safe to say that Holland’s creativity found refuge with Donna and Brenda. Times sure are changing.

Uniformity reigns over House of Holland’s fall collection. Inspired by a designer’s best friend, Henry Holland based his latest collection on Pantone colors. Large horizontal bars work as dividers for monochromatic ensembles. The focus on suiting pieces show a maturity in the function of Holland’s pieces, but his direction for color poses an issue of accessibility. Pieces like the coat with coattails or the boxy waistcoat are interesting, but the use of bars are intrusive and likely to break the harmony in most wardrobes. However–hit or miss, Mr. Holland deserves credit for not following the path of his peers and playing it safe.

“There once was a boy called Henry,
(Whose taste was somewhat bendy…),
With a pash for fash,
And all things flash,
He was quite the talk of the trendy.
One day Henry had an idea,
And a genius one it was clear,
For a range of t-shirts,
That were so hip they hurt,
“Anna Wintour’ll love ‘em”, he cheered!
So he set about thinking of slogans,
That the fash crowd would lap up like no-one’s,
His fave celebs,
Designers (and plebs),
None were safe, and he had so much fun!
That’s how House of Holland was born,
(on the name he never was torn),
“Buy this Coleen!”,
His first t-shirt screamed,
And so Heat magazine got on board…
The rest, as they say, is history,
And there really is no great mystery,
If you want to be cool,
At work, play or school,
Better snap one up pretty damn swiftly!”
