Designer Raf Simons continues to test the boundaries of minimalism with his latest collection for Jil Sander. When not gracing the silhouette with soft tailoring, Simons aggressively cuts and pulls at the material with darts and sharp hems. With a stationary color palette of blacks and clays, Simons focuses the attention on the details, which has very much become the image of Jil Sander.

Some of our favorite retailers may have bitten the dust recently, but fortunately for us, individual labels are finally realizing the power of the internet and heading in the direction of e-commerce. The latest label is Jil Sander. Launching tomorrow, Jil Sander’s online store is powered by the Yoox Group and initially targeted to the United States, Europe and Japan. Celebrating the launch, Jil Sander will be offering free shipping for the first ten days, as well as other limited offers. Stay tuned!

The Mistress of Minimalism, Jil Sander signed a “design consulting agreement” with Japanese basics label UNIQLO, earlier this year and the first glimpses of the results are surfacing.
A fair few blogs and fashion forums have been buzzing with anticipation, with posters at The Fashion Spot providing a cohesive summation of actual information as well as eye candy will hopefully keep everyone satisfied until the October 2nd drop.

If Raf Simons gets his way, we are a step away from the future of menswear. Although, Simons’ fall collection for Jil Sander is a far cry from the casual shopping trip, it does offer up a dose of adventure for the fearless. Venturing into the realm of unorthodox silhouettes, the latest collection is perfect for those who play the line between typical ready-to-wear and avant-garde fashion. Available at Oki-ni.
