Photographer Juergen Teller and Marc Jacobs are the inseparable duo when it comes to campaigns. Joining them on their adventure this season is rising star Yuri Pleskun, who fits right in with Marc Jacobs’ nonchalant aesthetic.

The last collection from Marc by Marc Jacobs lived up to Jacobs’ signature use of color, but the creativity felt stifled by the economic climate, leading to a range that felt old. Fortunately, inspired by the 80’s, Jacobs’ latest collection returns to form for the spring 2010 season. Embracing a youthful zest and spunk, the collection is actually exciting. Offering cuts that distinguish themselves from previous seasons, Jacobs adorns them with a quirky mix of bright colors and prints. Pants are fitted, while gym shorts get leggy. Cropped oversize sweaters meet slouchy tees, while casual knit vests are along for the ride. Meanwhile, clunky sneakers are strapped down for a modern, yet nostalgic look. Altogether, the collection captures a colorful adventurous youth that is not concerned with long-term style, but instead a desire to live in the moment and we would not want it any other way.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Resort 2010

Marc by Marc Jacobs’ resort 2010 collection is inspired by the eighties classic, Footloose. Gravatating towards a vivid and expressive color palette, the collection is spunky and young. Featuring nostalgic oversize outerwear pieces and effectious patterned leggings, the collection is a perfect home run for the quirky at heart.

Marc by Marc Jacobs
For the upcoming fall season, Marc Jacobs plays it safe with their mainline by focusing on boots. However, they pull out all the stops for the fun youthful diffusion line, Marc by Marc Jacobs. Taking a page from Acne, in a couple months, they will have you walking on platforms. It’s definitely a difficult look to pull off, but you have to love the adventurous souls who are willing to try something different. If thick soles are too much and you’re not afraid of bright colors and patterns, the diffusion line also offers up hi-tops in leopard and paisley as well as Armani’s signature quilting.
Campaign – Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2009

As per usual, the latest Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign was photographed by Juergen Teller. The dirty, gritty campaign is surprisingly dark for spring, but it is safe to expect the unexpected when it comes to Marc Jacobs. Case in point — Cole Mohr was the leading lady for last fall’s women’s line.
