Spring 2010 | Third Floor New York

Written by Carl on Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 | 2009, 2010, frey mudd, lookbooks/presentations, spring, spring 2010, third floor new york

Photographed once again by Amanda De Simone, relatively new label Third Floor New York envision a unique world for their man. In this world inspired by self-induced isolation, Red newcomer Frey Mudd has been cast. Existing in a dimension where the opinions of others are not an issue, fashion risks are maximized. Futuristic see-through sleeves and mesh netting create a common element, while the leather motorcycle jacket is halved at the sleeves for an interesting spring look. Combining both muted and fluorescent colors for a diverse palette, the range is adventurous, while also possessing the ability to adapt to a multitude of moods. From cropped leather tops to shorts and mesh, one cannot deny that the man of Third Floor New York walks to a beat of his own.

Third Floor New York Fall 2009

Written by Carl on Wednesday, May 20th, 2009 | 2009, fall, fall 2009, grayson vaughn, lookbooks/presentations, third floor new york

Photographed by Amanda De Simone, Grayson Vaughn brings a quiet confidence to Third Floor New York’s fall lookbook. The mood created is in tune with the collection’s inspirations of “abstract armory, disobedience within a private academic environment and recurring issues of mental entrapment.” Relying on the use of black, red and white, the collection plays with unfamiliar silhouettes and cuts. Although the collection has its daring elements like skin exposing straps, it remains accessible at the same time by holding firm control of a vision to bring traditional pieces into the modern age with subtle adjustments made to the drape or detailing. Because of this, the collection leaves itself open to both the contemporary man of style and the man who walks on the untamed avant-garde side of fashion — knowing no boundaries.
