Vincent Schoepfer Spring 2009

I usually don’t pay that much attention to the presentation of a brand, but I can’t help to be overcome with a good vibe when looking at Vincent Schoepfer’s lookbooks.  Completely infectious, Schoepfer’s lookbooks play around with a conceptual nerdy look.  In an awkward turn, I feel that Schoepfer gives off a completely cool vibe and his line becomes clothes I desperately want to wear.  The hooded waistcoat is most definitely a stand out piece. Paired with a long sleeved button down and skinny jeans, the waistcoat would complete a strong unique look.

Nice Collective Fall 2008

This collection completely took me by surprise.  I feel like it’s been hiding under a rock.  This lookbook is worthy of being incorporated into a style bible.  The pieces individually and together come off as effortless, while still looking really fresh.  It’s all about the subtle details.  I’m not a huge fan of white, but the waistcoat pictured in the first picture looks so crisp against black and grounded well by the black pin.  I also love that the hemline of the tee was cut at an angle.  I’m also a big fan of the poncho, but I have yet to find one that can be easily incorporated into most wardrobes.  Nice Collective’s poncho is perfect, because it has a streetwear vibe that tones it down and makes it approachable.  I’m also in love with the long shorts and how they were paired with long socks and boots.  I also appreciate the fact that while the shorts are extra long, they are not just merely cropped pants.  This is such a refreshing look for fall.

I was about to go to bed late last night when I decided to check the Phillip Lim website for fall updates as I do religiously everyday and finally fall lookbook images were posted. Needless to say, I didn’t go to bed, because 1) Phillip Lim is one of my favorite designers & 2) The fall collection is AMAZING. No words can do this collection justice so I’m going to let it speak for itself. But one thing for sure, I will be picking up several pieces this fall.

Day Birger et Mikkelsen Fall 2008

This is a case where I’m at a lost for words.  There are so many things about this collection I like.  Second row, third picture; I like the gray cable knit sweater and the styling of the shirt tied around the waist.  Lately, I’ve been obsessing over the color burgundy, but have yet to add any pieces of that color to my wardrobe.    The burgundy shirt in the third row, third picture worn under the suit is an impressive look and only compels me to actually begin my search.  I love it when colors pop without being obnoxious; think neon green, orange, aqua, etc.  I’m also liking the high waisted pants in the last picture.  Lastly, the boots look great with these looks.  A shout out to Paolo.  If you were still uneasy about boots, you should be ordering a pair right this moment.

I had to post this to feed my unhealthy Phillip Lim addiction.  I just have so much admiration for his work.  I have never been disappointed by a collection.  Can’t wait to see what he reveals next month at New York Fashion Week.

Thanks go out to Thread Trend for the lead.
