IN at OAK - Mukluks, Mukluks, Muluks

Mukluks, Mukluks, Muluks.  Say that word three times just because it is one of those fun words.  Oak wishes you a happy holiday with these cozy hand-made knit Mukluks.  Each one is individually made, so they are one-of-a-kind and they are only $42.  What a steal!

A LEATHER EDGE

Studded Leather Vest Sweater

“Cotton/cashmere black knit cardigan sweater with front fully studded leather piecing at chest. Double layered ribbing at hem with one side hanging loose for that “I just got into a fight” look. 85% cotton, 15% cashmere Piecing: 100% leather.”

The studded leather portion of this sweater is a hard look to pull off, but an interesting look nonetheless.  I love how it takes the preppy sense of the cardigan and crosses it with the rebellious edge of a biker.

Goodland Jacket

“Black varsity style jacket with a heavy wool exterior and debatable leather sleeves. snap closures and zippered front welt hand warming pockets. Ribbed trim at cuffs and hem. Fully lined. Shell: 80% wool, 20% nylon. Lining: 100% polyester. Sleeves: 100% leather.”

Interestingly enough it is the back profile of this jacket that caught my eye.  On most occasions, I have a great distaste for epaulets; they normally look really forced, but somehow they work here and balance out a really interesting jacket that turns into a vest.  2 for the price of 1!  But, please none of those convertible shorts/pants.

IN at OAK: Mr. Willhelm Lands

Posted by Carl | 2008, New Arrivals, bernhard willhelm, fall, in at oak | Thursday 6 November 2008 1:13 am

I feel like I always end up posting about Oak’s new arrivals, because their picks are right on the money.  So, I thought to myself, “Why not give Oak its own categories?”  Sounds good…DONE!  This week’s picks are from Bernhard Willhelm.  Don’t you just love him?  He’s completely out of his mind, but his silhouettes are beyond good ridiculous. Sweats need not be plain ever again.

Dear Bernhard, Oak, any designer with great pieces for me to wear,

FYI - I am available for adoption.

Love,

Carl
