Numéro Homme #19 | Ash Stymest, Arthur Daniyarov, Adrien Sahores & Josh Beech by Richard Bush

Written by Carl on Thursday, March 4th, 2010 | 2010, adrien sahores, arthur daniyarov, ash stymest, editorial, josh beech, numéro homme

Ash Stymest, Arthur Daniyarov, Adrien Sahores and Josh Beech make for a peculiar lot in the latest issue of Numéro Homme. Mobilized for a shoot with Richard Bush, the gang break in and out of the frames, resulting in a set of pictures that are up close and personal. Using this element to his advantage, stylist Jean-Michel Clerc draws attention to this season’s fine details found in the collections of designers like Riccardo Tisci.

Paris Fashion Week | Lanvin Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Sunday, January 24th, 2010 | 2010, Runway, adrian bosch, adrien sahores, aiden andrews, alex dunstan, alexander johansson, anthon wellsjo, benoni loos, callum wilson, charlie france, fall, fall 2010, felix schopgens, jakob hybholt, jeremy young, johannes linder, lanvin, paris fashion week, philipp bierbaum, rob rae, robbie wadge, rutger derksen, thomas penfound, zdenek

Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz explained that the latest collection from the French fashion house took its inspirations from the street, looking to the style of everyday people for motivation. Developing this theme, designer Lucas Ossendrijver turned to a smart mix of both low-key and luxe pieces. Balancing the fitted with the relaxed, the collection looked to slouchy knits, lived-in trousers, functional outerwear and cinched waists for a subtle wardrobe update. Rounded out in a primary color palette with a hint of autumn, the collection is deserving of praise for its construction and effortless silhouettes.

Paris Fashion Week | Raf Simons Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 | 2010, Runway, adrian bosch, adrien sahores, aiden andrews, arthur daniyarov, charlie france, collin tennant, fall, fall 2010, felix schopgens, joan pedrola, johannes linder, jonas kessler, lucas mascarini, matvey lykov, michael whittaker, nick rae, nicolas ripoll, paris fashion week, philipp bierbaum, raf simons, robbie wadge, william eustace, zdenek

As the line continues to blur between Raf Simons work for Jil Sander and his own line, the Belgian designer attempts to shock with a collection that tests the constraints of gender. Embellishing well-tailored suiting with magnetic snaps and zippers, Simons goes another step, adding form-fitting knits and wrap skirts to the equation. Further differentiating the range from other seasons, broken geometrics find a random home spread out across the collection’s tops and jackets. At large, Simons has several design elements at play that often conflict with each other, leaving the collection’s strength to its minimalist assets found in unworked suiting that ultimately provides the range with its strong foundation.

Paris Fashion Week | Hermès Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 | 2010, Runway, adrien sahores, alex dunstan, anthon wellsjo, bastiaan ninaber, benoni loos, charlie france, cole mohr, fall, fall 2010, george barnett, harry wakefield, hermes, isaac carew, jeremy young, marcel castenmiller, matthew hitt, max motta, nicolas ripoll, paris fashion week, robbie wadge, thiago santos, tyler riggs, wendell lissimore

Black, gray and navy were this season’s core requirements for Hermès designer Veronique Nichanian. Maintaining clean tailored lines for suiting and a casual parade of contemporary classics, Nichanian played it safe, showing the most spontaneity when it came to the collection’s stylized v-neck knits. Altogether, Hermès’ man walked with great poise and constancy, but lacked modern appeal.

Paris Fashion Week | Dior Homme Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 | 2010, Runway, adrian wlodarski, adrien sahores, alex dunstan, charlie france, dior homme, douglas neitzke, fall, fall 2010, jamie conday, marcel castenmiller, michael whittaker, paris fashion week, reinaldo berthoti, robbie wadge

A humble black and clay color palette dressed the most recent collection from Dior Homme designer Kris Van Assche. Striking a chord with relaxed tailoring, the designer continues in this vein, turning his efforts to this season’s outerwear. Found somewhere in between boxy and oversize, Dior’s man is given a larger than life silhouette that he takes on with ease. Coexisting harmoniously with the collection’s minimalist approach to monochromatic suiting, this season’s foray into outerwear solidifies a new chic Dior Homme that is understated, yet effective.
