Written by Carl on Wednesday, February 24th, 2010 | 10 men, 2010, andrea spotorno, anthon wellsjo, editorial, mattias karlsson, peter bruder

Photographed by Andrea Spotorno, Anthon Wellsjo and Peter Bruder star in a strangely dark editorial in 10 Men’s current spring 2010 issue. Styled by Mattias Karlsson, Peter and Anthon make for an eerie duo, who seem to know their way around a great suit or two.

Paris Fashion Week | Lanvin Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Sunday, January 24th, 2010 | 2010, Runway, adrian bosch, adrien sahores, aiden andrews, alex dunstan, alexander johansson, anthon wellsjo, benoni loos, callum wilson, charlie france, fall, fall 2010, felix schopgens, jakob hybholt, jeremy young, johannes linder, lanvin, paris fashion week, philipp bierbaum, rob rae, robbie wadge, rutger derksen, thomas penfound, zdenek

Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz explained that the latest collection from the French fashion house took its inspirations from the street, looking to the style of everyday people for motivation. Developing this theme, designer Lucas Ossendrijver turned to a smart mix of both low-key and luxe pieces. Balancing the fitted with the relaxed, the collection looked to slouchy knits, lived-in trousers, functional outerwear and cinched waists for a subtle wardrobe update. Rounded out in a primary color palette with a hint of autumn, the collection is deserving of praise for its construction and effortless silhouettes.

Paris Fashion Week | Hermès Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 | 2010, Runway, adrien sahores, alex dunstan, anthon wellsjo, bastiaan ninaber, benoni loos, charlie france, cole mohr, fall, fall 2010, george barnett, harry wakefield, hermes, isaac carew, jeremy young, marcel castenmiller, matthew hitt, max motta, nicolas ripoll, paris fashion week, robbie wadge, thiago santos, tyler riggs, wendell lissimore

Black, gray and navy were this season’s core requirements for Hermès designer Veronique Nichanian. Maintaining clean tailored lines for suiting and a casual parade of contemporary classics, Nichanian played it safe, showing the most spontaneity when it came to the collection’s stylized v-neck knits. Altogether, Hermès’ man walked with great poise and constancy, but lacked modern appeal.

Paris Fashion Week | Dunhill Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 | 2010, Runway, adrian bosch, adrian wlodarski, aiden andrews, alex dunstan, anthon wellsjo, bastiaan ninaber, benoni loos, charlie france, dunhill, fall, fall 2010, george barnett, jeremy young, matvey lykov, paris fashion week, rob moore, rob rae, robbie wadge, william eustace

Dunhill creative director Kim Jones looks to Clement Court for inspiration this season. Court was responsible for establishing Dunhill’s French presence during the twenties. Looking to an iconic sense of proper British suiting and outerwear, Jones turns out one classic after another–fusing Dunhill’s heritage with everyday function.

Paris Fashion Week | Kenzo Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 | 2010, Kristian Akegren, Runway, adrian bosch, adrien sahores, aiden andrews, alexander johansson, anthon wellsjo, aram gevorgyan, arthur daniyarov, benoni loos, charlie westerberg, collin tennant, fall, fall 2010, felix schopgens, gordon bothe, jacob coupe, jakob hybholt, jamie conday, joan pedrola, johannes linder, kenzo, lasse pedersen, linus gustin, matvey lykov, nicolas ripoll, paris fashion week, philipp bierbaum, rob rae, robbie wadge, roy pratt, theo hall, timothée el kaim

The mood was upbeat at today’s Kenzo show, where designer Antonio Marras looked to French filmmaker Jacques Tati for inspiration. Taking a cue from an older generation, Marras based fall’s collection around tweed, houndstooth, muted plaid and abstract prints. Accenting a generally gray color palette with the occasional sightings of red, brown and orange, cropped jackets and ankle baring trousers were made complete with spacious outerwear. Altogether, crafting a charming nostalgic affair, Marras delivered an inspiring collection that ended with a bang as models took to Place des Victoires for a showstoping finale.

Paris Fashion Week | Dries Van Noten Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Thursday, January 21st, 2010 | 2010, Clément Chabernaud, Douglas Jewell, Kristian Akegren, Runway, Stas Svetlichnyy, adrian bosch, adrien sahores, alex dunstan, anthon wellsjo, arthur daniyarov, bastiaan ninaber, benoni loos, cole mohr, douglas neitzke, dries van noten, fall, fall 2010, george barnett, jakob hybholt, jakob wiechmann, joan pedrola, marko brozic, matvey lykov, nicolas ripoll, paris fashion week, patrick meckelburg, philipp bierbaum, robbie wadge, tom nicon, trent kendrick, tyler riggs, william eustace

Dries Van Noten sent a graphic parade down the runway earlier today with detailed piping and larger than life prints making quite the statement. Riding an influx of color and excitement, Dries Van Noten interjected men’s suiting with great personality. From dressed down sweats-styled trousers and bold electric blue separates to contrasting inserts, Van Noten’s man proved to be the life of the party. Bridging the gap between modest and playful, the collection executed a well-balanced turn at a personable collection for the man of all occasions.
