I Love Fake – Chris & Grayson Are The Jokers

Written by Carl on Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 | 2009, chris pulliam, grayson vaughn, jolijn snijders

I Love Fake photographer Jolijn Snijders strikes again. The latest models to be photographed informally by Snijders are Chris Pulliam and Grayson Vaughan. Take your pick. Chris plays it silly as a deer caught in headlights, while Grayson is suggestive and cannot get his pants straight.

UNIQLO Fall 2009

Written by Carl on Tuesday, July 21st, 2009 | 2009, chris pulliam, fall, fall 2009, lookbooks/presentations, uniqlo

Offering versatility, value and practicality, the latest collection from UNIQLO provides an eclectic mix of pieces that are perfect for creating both ordinary and unusual looks.  Yesterday’s basics are a memory of the distant past when you have a flexible range of knits, suiting and other garments to take you from autumn to winter.  Focusing on outerwear that is as stylish as it is functional, the fall collection goes through a great deal of work to make sure all bases are covered.  From the parka to the bomber jacket, many of UNIQLO’s outerwear pieces feature HEATTECH. Developed by UNIQLO and Toray, HEATTECH retains body heat, while transforming moisture into more heat for those cold winter days.  With UNIQLO also incorporating a wide array of Autumn colors and irresistible materials like cashmere and merino wool, not taking the opportunity to layer this fall would be criminal.

Prada Spring 2010

Written by Carl on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009 | 2009, 2010, Clément Chabernaud, Runway, chris pulliam, milan fashion week, prada, spring, spring 2010

Miuccia Prada continues to play with the constructs of society and gender with her latest spring collection. Using the gladiator inspired fall collection as a jumping point, the spring range continues in the same vein trading in studs for open meshed netting and daring translucent fabrics. Using the general idea of the city and black and white movies as her catalyst, the collection is representative of the networks we build, break and mend as individuals, effectively creating tangled webs. This idea translates into the working relationship between tones of black and gray, as barely there fabrics fight for face time. Overall, Prada’s subtle patterns and mesh knitting lends traditional workwear a new lease on life by not looking outwards for improvement and fulfillment, but instead revealing the possibilities that already present.
