Chipping away at the superficial embellishments of life, fall’s collection from Odyn Vovk looks to body, mind and essence to fulfill this season’s vision. Bringing together the remains of a not to distant past, designer Austin Sherbanenko sent his men down the runway in somber layers of wool, linen and leather. A rapid succession of deconstructed separates proved to have the precision to unearth a gritty sense of refinement. Traveling the well-versed path between simple hooded sweatshirts and ready-to-layer shorts to more complicated pieces like the collection’s outerwear, Sherbanenko looked to texture and fabric for a dynamic quality. From capes and cropped denim to exposed shirt tails, the Odyn Vovk man evolves into a more complex character with a style that has gradually been worn away for a more organic finish.
