Rounding out the big three shows, New York Fashion Week is right around the corner and in preparation Red Model Management has given their fine crop of models the artist treatment courtesy of Frillr’s Fabien Montique. Boasting several of New York’s most familiar faces on the catwalk, Red is home to models like Salieu Jalloh and Lyle Lodwick. When not grooming promising talent like Jullien Herrera, Red is on the scene with dynamic models like Will Lewis or resident bad boys Tyler Riggs and Dan Felton. Regardless what show, Red is sure to make a strong impact come New York Fashion Week, which kicks off the end of next week.
Cleverly styled by Douglas Keisler as two of a kind, Jullien Herrera (Red Models) and Mark Westinghouse (New York Models) convey an old-age story in the most recent editorial of photographer David Wang. Hiding behind a tough exterior, the duo affect a confidence that is uncertain and riddled with circumstance.
Inspired by a church massacre in his hometown during the Haitian Revolution, designer José Durán turns out an intriguing collection of organized chaos. Playing a balancing act with garments that rely heavily on both deconstructed and structured elements, Durán brings the attractiveness of both techniques together for a range that engages. Challenging tradition, circumstance brings a vivid masculinity to Durán’s daring image of a modern warrior. Great attention to the shaping of the shoulders creates strength, while draping adds a certain softness. Altogether, the collection makes a loud statement with a distinct point of view, while still possessing more quiet traits that are translatable to individual wardrobes.
Frillr pays tribute to this season’s felt round topped hat from Robert Geller with twenty-five models photographed by Fabien Montique.
