Model of the Month | Flashback–Taylor Fuchs for Feld Hommes

Written by Carl on Friday, March 12th, 2010 | 2010, editorial, feld hommes, isabelle thiry, model of the month, taylor fuchs

Feld Hommes fashion editor Isabelle Thiry shares her experience styling Taylor Fuchs a couple years back, when he had just began modeling. Working with friend and photographer Daniel Schröder, the duo were tasked with shooting an editorial for Feld Hommes. The shoot took place “in Hamburg, in a rundown place on Reeperbahn, used and shared by artists as their ateliers…” She recalls Taylor being really cute and shy at the time. He was new to modeling and had travelled “all the way from Canada, just for the day.” However, despite his new status as a model, Thiry recalls Taylor being so much a natural that there was no need to show him poses or direct much if at all…for him, it just came naturally. Reflecting on Taylor, Thiry to this day thinks fondly of him as the boy with the “poetic face and the space between his teeth.”

Taylor: My father and I thought it was a scam at first, but as we began to learn more about the agency and the business, we realized it might be something worthwhile to try out.

Recently closing Robert Geller’s fall 2010 runway show and appearing in the designer’s spring lookbook, surely Taylor Fuchs has found a new fan. Styled by Yuji Takenaka, Taylor lends spring’s collection a new dimension. Drawn to surroundings that exude a magic similar to the paintings of Michael Sowa, Taylor is photographed by Norman Watson in a fashion that captures a subtle touch of romance, but also a hint of reality.

New York Fashion Week | Michael Kors Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Friday, February 19th, 2010 | 2010, Runway, alexandre cunha, armando cabral, danny schwarz, fall, fall 2010, garrett neff, joan pedrola, lenz von johnston, max motta, michael kors, new york fashion week, noah mills, sean opry, simon nessman, stan jouk, taylor fuchs, terron wood, william eustace

Suiting up for next season’s cold, Michael Kors no doubt put the luxury in fashion, crafting a rich collection of camel hues that placed his man at the wealthiest of ski resorts. Loosely draped with ease, wrinkled fabrics provided the collection with a casual authenticity, while functionally chic outerwear and accessories set the tone. Altogether, a smart blending of classic garments with contemporary silhouettes resulted in a collection that set Kors apart from his peers.
