Paris Fashion Week | Romain Kremer Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Sunday, January 24th, 2010 | 2010, Runway, Tristan Knights, fall, fall 2010, lucas mascarini, michael whittaker, paris fashion week, romain kremer, tom nicon

More grounded than usual, this season Romain Kremer presents a man that is clothed for the most part. Resting heavily on structured outerwear, the color black provides a safe standby, but a cold sense of futurism converses beautifully with the gentle attributes of a cream color palette. Kremer may take great liberties with the constant expanding and retracting of his silhouettes, but one element that remains constant is a playful banter between the accessible and the provocative that challenges notions of acceptable fashion.

Paris Fashion Week | Francisco Van Benthum

Written by Jean-Luc on Friday, January 22nd, 2010 | 2010, Runway, Tristan Knights, adrien sahores, arthur daniyarov, benoni loos, fall, fall 2010, francisco van benthum, gerhard freidl, linus gustin, nicolas ripoll, paris fashion week, theo hall, william eustace

for his fourth show in paris francisco van benthum took inspiration from russian and slavic folklore : historical images of imperial russia, tsars and slavic traditional clothes are translated into a poetic and contemporary fall 2010 collection entitled “tsar” …
experimenting with shapes and construction, the designer emphasizes volume and proportion, offering oversize round silhouettes and high waists, mostly in brown, cream, black, brown and grey with highlights of red, orange and gold, all in luxurious fabrics (cashmere loden wools, flannels, fine cotton poplins, silks, waxed cotton, soft lurex shirtings and silk/cashmere for light knits) … traditional handcrafts such as patchwork and embroidery add to a folkloristic atmosphere …

Milan Fashion Week | Prada Fall 2010

Written by Carl on Sunday, January 17th, 2010 | 2010, Douglas Jewell, Runway, Tristan Knights, adrien sahores, aiden andrews, albert krarup, alexander johansson, aram gevorgyan, bastiaan ninaber, charlie france, fall, fall 2010, gen huisman, george barnett, gerhard freidl, jakob hybholt, james hampson, joan pedrola, johannes linder, linus gustin, lucas mascarini, mark cox, mathias bergh, milan fashion week, philipp bierbaum, prada, rob rae, robbie wadge, theo hall, william eustace

The last two seasons, Miuccia Prada’s vision has dictated an overwhelming presence of studs and mesh. Taking a nostalgic step back, Prada lightens up this season with a retro-inspired collection. Easing away from the color black, coral, yellow, cobalt and orange are introduced to lend Prada’s shrunken knits and doubled collars a peppy spirit. Meanwhile, loafers and pleated trousers complete an unwavering nod to the past.
