The mood may be somber for Andreas Larsson’s editorial for the debut issue of L’Officiel Hommes Germany, but stylist Marcus Zietz charms with a display of bold prints and graphics. Set against Larsson’s striking photography, Adrian Wlodarski, Gabriel Grovnik, Jacob Coupe, Tomek Szczukiecki and William Eustace model the artistry of several of fashion’s finest designers from Ann Demeulemeester and Riccardi Tisci to Rei Kawakubo.
Calling upon the creative direction of Raf Simons, Vogue Hommes Japan dedicates a spread in its latest issue to the designer. While William Eustace takes center stage in a serious manner familliar to Simons’ aesthetic, photographer Pierre Debusschere captures the stark scene. Dressing William in garments and accessories from the archive, Marieke van Dongen and Matthieu Blazy (@ Raf Simons) offer a detailed curation of Raf Simons’ recent collections.

Stylist Serge Girardi celebrates the 80s with a colorful spread that packs a punch with this season’s brightest suits and the iconic Ray-Ban. Doubling as the cool squad, William Eustace, Guy Robinson, Jerome W. and Borys Starosz sit for photographer Miuel Reveriego, who in turn captures a somewhat moody atmosphere.
Creating a world where lush timeless knits can harmoniously co-exist with modern leather garments, designer James Long finds success in the details. Whereas many of his peers embraced leather sleeve inserts for the upcoming fall season, Long goes the extra mile, beginning with two distinct classes of garments before finding a common thread. Skillfully crafting separates, consisting of knitwear and leather with impeccable attention to detail, the two contrasting elements are gradually brought together for a near genius result. Delivering both edge and comfort, a playful mix of fabrics is rounded out by a small splash of color–lending a dark and sophisticated collection an upbeat mood.
For the fall 2010 season, J.W. Anderson’s more graceful approach to menswear is at odds with an imaginative rebellious faction. Inspired by “saints or assassins with a cross-country paramilitary vibe”, Anderson pulls from varied references including his Irish heritage. The result are constrasting elements that can be interpreted in several ways. For instance, the romantic idea of countryside plaid is understated with subdued colors and a semi-traditional cut before going the way of a punk aesthetic with a vibrant red and more modern cuts. From stern dark suiting and bold wraps to the quaint cardigan, J.W. Anderson layers this season’s collection with excitement and unexpectedness.
