“Cameras For Eyes and Horses For Hearts” — Mjölk Fall 2009

Mjölk’s fall col­lec­tion, “Cam­eras For Eyes and Horses For Hearts” is inspired by the mil­i­tary uni­forms of the Amer­i­can Civil War. The source of inspi­ra­tion is fit­ting as Dan­ish born designer, Lars Stoten has selected a new home for Mjölk. Try­ing out their luck, Mjölk has taken up roots in America’s fash­ion cap­i­tal of New York.

Mjölk’s fall col­lec­tion bor­rows rugged and mas­cu­line ele­ments from the Amer­i­can Civil War and pairs them with Mjölk’s sig­na­ture pro­por­tions and cuts. Earth tones are won­der­fully com­pli­mented by bursts of elec­tric blue, deep red, and mus­tard. Stern neutral-​​based coats and blaz­ers are con­trasted by cheer­ful chunky knits and fashion-​​forward leg­gings. The collection’s fin­ish­ing touch is a strik­ing selec­tion of boots, moc­casins, and metal-​​framed back­packs. Taken as a whole, Mjölk’s lat­est col­lec­tion offers the sophis­ti­cated, yet youth­ful zest that fall 2009 craves.
