“Drenched” — Göran Sundberg

The even­tual effects of global warm­ing take the cen­ter stage for designer Göran Sundberg’s lat­est col­lec­tion. The col­lec­tion titled “Drenched” is accom­pa­nied by the tag line “suit­ing for a future rain­storm region.” Sundberg’s col­lec­tion is inspired by science’s per­cep­tion of the chang­ing cli­mate. Green­house gas emis­sions are at work alter­ing the amount of rain world­wide. While Africa has began to dry up, “far north regions, includ­ing Canada, north­ern Europe and Rus­sia, will get wet­ter…” In prepa­ra­tion, Sund­berg has cre­ated an inno­v­a­tive col­lec­tion with the focus being on slick weather resis­tant out­er­wear. Tak­ing his inspi­ra­tion to lit­eral lev­els, a high­light of the col­lec­tion is Sundberg’s work to recre­ate rain­drops as sub­tley fea­tured on one of his blaz­ers. Rain or shine, Sundberg’s pieces are a wel­comed addi­tion to the world of fashion.
