Fall 2009 | Wunderkind

Fall 2009 marks the launch of designer Wolf­gang Joop’s menswear line under the Ger­man label Wun­derkind. The col­lec­tion mar­ries a won­der­ful coun­try vibe to the image of a refined mod­ern dandy. Sen­si­ble suit­ing is off­set by large tied rib­bons, the cot­ton cum­mer­bund and even a frol­lic in red, blue and brown dye. Over­all, the collection’s aes­thetic is quite charm­ing, but also one note. Not a bad first effort, but it leaves one to won­der how the sec­ond col­lec­tion will take shape.
