Expand­ing on a con­cep­tual col­lec­tion based around the word inter­ject and its numer­ous mean­ings, designer Chul Young Choi approaches his sopho­more col­lec­tion with the goal to make the famil­iar feel fresh once more. Begin­ning with a rel­a­tively con­ser­v­a­tive sil­hou­ette, the man of Cy Choi must keep up with a con­stantly evolv­ing wardrobe. From the mod­est jacket and trousers to an inter­jec­tion of dra­matic shape, cut and vol­ume, the col­lec­tion reveals an endear­ing stride in spo­rad­i­cally placed pock­ets. Pulled in many direc­tions, but cohe­sive nev­er­the­less, fall’s range finds its voice in an intri­cately con­structed vari­ance of both casual and for­mal gar­ments that set out an intel­li­gent tone with styl­ish quirks.
