Armani
VS
Dolce & Gabbana
Drama has engulfed the fashion world. The latest feud has been started by Giorgio Armani, who accuses designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana of stealing one of his designs. Now, before we get to the design that has the seventy-four year old designer in such an uproar, let’s take a glimpse at the collections that both parties showed today. It makes the comments issued by the designers so much more enjoyable.
First up is Giorgio Armani whose signature pieces this season included halter-top styled shirts and high-waist pants:
D&G on the other hand surprised with a collection inspired by the band jacket:
Now moving on…
So why all the hostility?
Armani claims that Dolce & Gabbana stole his Fall 2008 quilted pants (left) to use in their Fall 2009 collection (right). (EW…the mere existence of both pairs is a travesty)
“Armani is notoriously bold about defending his designs, and noted that Dolce & Gabbana used a design he claimed as his own no less than 16 times on the runway: ‘I would understand if they were nobodies. But honestly!’” Looks like Armani is going to press the issue, citing, “Now they are copying. Later, they will learn.”
Dolce & Gabbana’s response?
“Surely we still have much to learn. But definitely not from him. Stylistically, the Armani style is not, and has never been, an inspiration source for us and we stopped seeing his fashion shows years ago.”
Better watch it boys. Those are fighting words!

…but I am going to have to say TEAM D&G on this one.
More from the Fall 2009 D&G collection under the cut…

Why on earth would they squabble over such a teribble design in the first place? Trousers inspired by oven mitts should be forgotten not defended and fought over!
omg what an issue! ha” and i loved the michael jackson icon it’s so funny, let’s see what happens next
i agree with steve. why the hell do they have to argue over such terrible trousers? totally pointless.
I dont expect much to come from this but if I had to pick a side it would be Dolce & Gabbana over Armani any day. Armani’s clothes are simply essence of boredom while Dolce’s D&G line at least provides some interesting pieces season after season.
Art is art.
Omg Armani is such a bad company his clothes are so cheap and Dolce&Gabbana is so much better.
