Fashion Week by Berns | Hope Fall 2010

Inspired by direc­tor Ing­mar Bergman’s film The Sev­enth Seal, Hope design­ers Ann Ringstrand and Ste­fan Söder­berg come together to craft an under­stated col­lec­tion that gives life to the cold and bar­ren. Look­ing to black and navy accented by an off-​​white win­ter, hood details and leather trousers are used to restruc­ture the clas­sics. While army boots and snow parkas ref­er­ence the past, crin­kled wool and leather are patched together for a rugged sense of lux­ury. Mod­eled after a game of chess between the film’s pro­tag­o­nist, a medieval knight and death him­self, a check­ered pat­tern makes a final impres­sion that also embod­ies fall’s col­lec­tion – one of great sub­stance, thought and care.
