Beginning with the Sharp Standard–Using a suit as his foundation, James Hillian was inspired by Salvatore Dali’s depiction of the cosmos for the spring 2012 season. More specifically, it was Dali’s depiction of a black hole that Hillian cites as a reference point for a collection filled with billowing pinstriped trousers and french style button-downs. With a few glimpses of color, the collection relies on predominantly black, white and gray. Quirks, outside the silhouette, come by way of pocket and zipper placement for an interesting spring feat.

The Art of Relaxation–Taking tailoring to a fine art, Hardy Amies manages to showcase a relaxed spin on luxury. With suiting shorts holding a youthful aura as trousers, trimmed above the knee, the British house pulls together the three-piece suit, enveloped by a genuine lightness. Transitioning from cool grays to muted pastels and a touch of metallic for knits, the sharp offering is brought together with the addition of bronzed footwear for an impressive showing.

The March–A fusion of tribal inspirations, KTZ constructs the modern gladiator for their spring 2012 collection. Bringing a streetwear edge together with fashion-forward numbers, a black palette is accented by KTZ’s signature penchant for a multitude of color, this time delivered in prints. Emphasizing strong draping, jackets and trousers are loosely wrapped and accented by a mosaic of color. Clearly eccentric, but also possessing the trappings of an easy wardrobe update, KTZ graces the season with unapologetic character.

Casual Formalities–Continuing a shimmering trend in London, Lou Dalton hits the catwalk with varying proportions, accented by silver. Undressing tradition, a formal foot forward coincides with a refined casualness. As blazers are paired with t-shirts for a sporty spring look, light-weight structured outerwear competes with shorts, cut at various lengths for the changing man of style. Letting out targeted silhouettes, while keeping others fitted, Lou Dalton finishes strong with textured finishes and a play on light and dark.
