Missoni Fall/​Winter 2012 | Milan Fashion Week

The Mis­soni Way–With her fam­ily look­ing on, Angela Mis­soni sent her men down the cat­walk with an easy air. Lay­ered lightly for the sea­son, sub­dued autumn col­ors con­tributed to relaxed out­ing, fea­tur­ing a semi-​​fitted wardrobe of knitwear, shirt­ing, and out­er­wear, exe­cuted with a sub­tle hand. The results of her­itage at work, Missoni’s sig­na­ture prints dressed an array of gar­ments that encom­passed a walk of leisure, com­plete with a laissez-​​faire atti­tude and bucket hats that gave a dis­tinct feel to the season.

Vivienne Westwood Fall/​Winter 2012 | Milan Fashion Week

The After­party–Appar­ently the world is near­ing the end of its course and tem­per­a­tures our drop­ping, so if course Vivi­enne West­wood would be the per­fect can­di­date to give her take on the sit­u­a­tion. Mix­ing her sig­na­ture brand of quirky with rather con­ser­v­a­tive instru­ments, the fall/​winter 2012 out­ing bridges the gap between eccen­tric and acces­si­ble. While a time­less mode of dress is acquired by tai­lored suit­ing and out­er­wear in sub­dued tones, per­son­al­ity is deliv­ered in spades when approach­ing the more elab­o­rate gar­ments. Play­ing with pat­terns and lay­er­ing for an end of the world freeze, West­wood plays a charm­ing hand, cre­at­ing a world where the fur coated gen­tle­man can co-​​exist with the pat­tern mix­ing deviant who boasts a pen­chant for off the cuff silhouettes.

One Step to Tomor­row–Pringle of Scot­land designer Alis­tair Carr set his sights on an easy mode for the fall/​winter 2012 sea­son. Pep­pered with the occa­sional print, the col­lec­tion became largely about those essen­tial sep­a­rates to sur­vive the sea­son, but with style. Mix­ing the label’s knack for knits with impres­sive out­er­wear, the range served as the per­fect blue­print to the sea­son. From over­size out­er­wear with min­i­mal­ist detail to leather pants and a degree brash fash­ion, Pringle of Scotland’s fall 2012 col­lec­tion enveloped the care­ful trend­set­ter with a remark­able restraint.
