Hus­band and wife design team, Michael and Nicole Colovos are on their way to mak­ing Hel­mut Lang rel­e­vant once more. The fall 2009 col­lec­tion is a sleek, clean body of mono­chro­matic pieces designed with lay­er­ing in mind. A major­ity of the min­i­mal­ist col­lec­tion is based on a black and gray color palette, but the color white also makes a refresh­ing fall appear­ance. The thin light pieces were cre­ated to be ver­sa­tile and per­ti­nent to each sea­son. The deci­sion to go this sim­plis­tic route is a wise one as it opens Hel­mut Lang up as the basis for a foun­da­tional wardrobe.
