“I Want to Believe” — Daniel Palillo Fall 2009

Daniel Palillo’s fall col­lec­tion titled, “I Want to Believe” offers a lit­tle opti­mism for the upcom­ing sea­son. Palillo designs clothes accord­ing to his per­sonal tastes and has a ten­dency to grav­i­tate towards black and white. Because of this, it is sur­pris­ing to see the use of lively col­ors as bright as yel­low and teal. How­ever, it is pleas­ant to see this nat­ural growth within the color palette. It reju­ve­nates Palillo’s sig­na­ture over­size look with vigor and fresh­ness.  This energy coin­cides per­fectly with Palillo’s futur­is­tic sil­hou­ettes that are inspired by strange inhab­i­tants from a far away planet.  In this vein, Palillo’s dis­tinc­tive col­lec­tion acts as vehi­cle to dis­cover a new styl­ish world of our own.
