James Hillian Spring 2012 | London Fashion Week

Begin­ning with the Sharp Stan­dard–Using a suit as his foun­da­tion, James Hillian was inspired by Sal­va­tore Dali’s depic­tion of the cos­mos for the spring 2012 sea­son. More specif­i­cally, it was Dali’s depic­tion of a black hole that Hillian cites as a ref­er­ence point for a col­lec­tion filled with bil­low­ing pin­striped trousers and french style button-​​downs. With a few glimpses of color, the col­lec­tion relies on pre­dom­i­nantly black, white and gray. Quirks, out­side the sil­hou­ette, come by way of pocket and zip­per place­ment for an inter­est­ing spring feat.
