Copenhagen based fashion label, Jean//phillip is new to the fashion scene, having been founded in 2007. The fall 2008 collection showed a label trying to get its footing and determine its signature, but this collection shows a clear direction. Colors are abandoned and a monochromatic theme embraced in order to focus on details like funnel and cowl necks. The bleak appearance of a black dominated collection is offset by a difference in materials that play with sheen and metallic appearances. Jean-phillip’s plaid selection and distinctive silhouettes are the highlight of this collection and sure to distinguish his pieces from others this upcoming fall.
