Jil Sander Spring 2010

Describ­ing the lat­est col­lec­tion from Jil Sander as min­i­mal­ist would be an under­state­ment. Com­par­ing the upcom­ing fall 2009 col­lec­tion with spring 2010, Raf Simons has toned the over­all Jil Sander look back dras­ti­cally. Instead of heav­ily struc­tured pieces fea­tur­ing nar­row shoul­ders and cinched waists, the spring col­lec­tion is relaxed and falls in a nat­ural fash­ion. Call it sim­ple, but from the bowl cuts to the pre­dom­i­nantly white color palette, Simons has cre­ated a col­lec­tion that is likely to be unique to its sea­son. Clean and unclut­tered, the stark white col­lec­tion of mod­estly slim sil­hou­ettes with Simons’ sig­na­ture hem­lines and the sim­ply chic illus­tra­tions is a valiant effort.
