Don’t Call it a Comeback-Eight years after leaving her eponymous label, Jil Sander returns to Milan with a new collection that easily finds its footing amongst today’s fashions. A self-proclaimed minimalist with a long history of simple elegance, sharp lines and cuts defined the latest range. Achieving the modern definition of a classic, semi-fitted suiting opened the show with Sander infusing a youthful zest, presenting sleeveless jackets and pumping up the volume of the white dress shirt, courtesy of exaggerated sleeves. Pairing her designs with a squared-toe shoe, the outing achieved a level of sophistication, while also maintaining an attitude that these were pieces to live in. As much as the tailored double-breasted jacket or overcoat reigned in vibrant hues of blue and yellow, graphic t-shirts and oversized shorts felt right at home and immediately at ease, much like the designer herself.
