John Rocha Fall 2009

Designer John Rocha was born in Hong Kong, but is cur­rently based in Ire­land. Rocha is known for his fas­ci­na­tion with sil­hou­ette, sur­face, and tex­ture. While other design­ers worry about recession-​​friendly fash­ion, Rocha’s fall col­lec­tion dis­plays a refined lux­ury. Using dark tweeds and furs, Rocha cre­ates a col­lec­tion of relaxed out­er­wear and cropped trousers. Inter­est­ing is Rocha’s use of fur to accent a blazer. It just proves that the econ­omy can be hit hard, but there will always be those cre­ative spir­its who rebel.
