John Varvatos Spring 2009

I will never get why col­lec­tions are released that are out of sync with the sea­son they are intended for, but I do like John Var­vatos’ spring col­lec­tion.  I’ve seen sim­i­lar pieces before, but the details draw me in.  I love the cable knit cardi­gan with tog­gles and how the sleeves of the blaz­ers are dual toned. I’ve also noticed that more and more design­ers are head­ing in the direc­tion of Ann Demeule­meester and Rick Owens with sheer shirts and sweaters.  I love what Rick and Ann do with sheer mate­r­ial, but I don’t know how I feel about every other designer now doing this as well.
