Kent & Curwen Fall/Winter 2014–Appointed as creative director last September, Simon Spurr debuted his first collection for Kent & Curwen during London Collections: Men. Marrying the label’s storied heritage with a modern attitude, Spurr was inspired by the British naval dress uniform. Reworking iconic pieces of outerwear such as the motorcycle jacket, Spurr addressed a sharp new focus for Kent & Curwen. The results included tailored outerwear, cut close to form and finished with leather epaulettes and lion head crested metal buttons. Not missing a chance to address the officer’s coat, a luxurious wool-cashmere blend take was trimmed with rabbit fur.
