Falling Leaves–Berlin-​​based label Annt­ian turns to the nat­ural occur­rences of fall to color their palette for the upcom­ing sea­son. Enlist­ing pho­tog­ra­pher Johanna Ruebel to shoot Pierre Becker for their look­book, a loose-​​fitting wardrobe of slouchy pants and knitwear come together in gor­geous autumn hues. Cov­ered in a tapes­try of printed leaves and fur­nished in easy fab­rics, a roman­tic out­ing pro­vides for a com­fort­able fall/​winter 2012 season.

Anntian Spring 2011

Whereas Anntian’s fall col­lec­tion fell in line with a dark sea­son, the label expe­ri­ences an awak­en­ing in spir­its with their upcom­ing spring out­ing. Enti­tled Ocean View, the lat­est col­lec­tion looks to calm­ing spring hues to paint a pic­ture of natural-​​based col­ors and the ease that comes with healthy liv­ing. Care­free and draw­ing cre­ative energy from trop­i­cal fruits, a relaxed wardrobe of loose sil­hou­ettes come together, dressed in the Berlin label’s sig­na­ture prints. Mix­ing and match­ing every­thing from shoes and fab­rics to the col­or­ful pat­terns fur­nished for the sea­son, Annt­ian effort­lessly deliv­ers yet another charm­ing collection.

Fall 2010 | Anntian

Enti­tled “Walk the Light”, fall’s col­lec­tion from Berlin-​​based label Annt­ian turns to a rus­tic orange to paint a por­trait of a some­what clumsy, but com­fort­ing range. Embrac­ing a lived-​​in qual­ity with great char­ac­ter, design­ers Anne Hilken and Chris­t­ian Kurt delve into an end­less array of prints and pat­terns to dress their ultra-​​relaxed sil­hou­ettes. Alto­gether casual, but dis­tinct in its vision, the lat­est from Annt­ian deliv­ers a smart array of both func­tional and styl­ish garments.

The whim­si­cal pat­terns and prints of Berlin-​​based label Annt­ian get a fresh per­spec­tive when styled by Bodo Ernle (Nina Klein) for the lat­est issue of Sport & Street mag­a­zine. Fea­tur­ing Michel Philippe of Viva Mod­els pho­tographed by Dale Grant, the spring range con­tin­ues to read both cre­ative and prac­ti­cal against the con­trast of graf­fiti lined streets.

Spring 2010 | Anntian — “Phase”

Approach­ing the spring sea­son, Annt­ian duo Anne Hilken and Chris­t­ian Kurt up the ante once more, rein­ter­pret­ing their sig­na­ture mix of pat­terns in a light easy­go­ing col­lec­tion. Bal­anc­ing over­size looks with expert drap­ing, the range takes on com­fort and style in one go. Dressed in a com­bi­na­tion of stripes and sponged prints, sim­ple slouchy tees and trousers take a back­seat to great jack­ets and knits. From an organic ori­gin of cre­ativ­ity, Hilken and Kurt once again deliver a range that is both spe­cial and unique.

“Directives” — ANNTIAN Fall 2009

Anne Hilken and Chris­t­ian Kurt’s label Annt­ian has a cer­tain type of magic that is dif­fi­cult to find in most labels. Sea­son after sea­son, the Berlin based design duo turn out col­lec­tions that exhibit a height­ened sense of per­son­al­ity that echo the sen­ti­ments of a cre­ative spirit. It is this cre­ative per­son­al­ity embod­ied by the clothes that dis­tin­guishes Annt­ian from oth­ers. In the same vein of appre­ci­at­ing cre­ativ­ity and the indi­vid­u­al­ity that it nur­tures, Hilken and Kurt use their fall col­lec­tion to open a dia­logue about sub­jects of direc­tives. The col­lec­tion takes a stance against direc­tives by engag­ing the arena of free­dom that allows for one’s own direc­tion. The space that allows free expres­sion is best exhib­ited by the inter­play of var­i­ous pat­terns and col­or­ways. This inter­play allows for an endear­ing col­lec­tion of color and per­son­al­ity. In a mono­chro­matic sea of dark­ness, Annt­ian offers a col­or­ful alter­na­tive this fall, while you hold the directive.
