Blending classics with modern day staples, Attachment designer Kazuyuki Kumagai builds a multifunctional collection for the upcoming spring season. Where distressed denim adds an accessible element to the range, cropped sweats and leggings keep the collection current, while nylon garments offer a sporty appeal. Finally, a predominantly dark collection is accented by its fair share of livelier colors such as yellow and royal blue, making for a well-balanced season.

It’s not fall until beloved retailer Atelier New York starts posting their latest arrivals. As usual, the initial buys are stellar with a strong showing in outerwear. Attachment delivers with a beautifully draped coat, while m.a+ crafts a smart dual layered wool jacket. On the other hand, Carol Christian Poell offers their annual selection of buttery soft leather in impeccable cuts. If course, this is only the beginning and Atelier will be getting in several other arrivals including Ann Demeulemeester, Damir Doma and The Viridi-anne.

Designer Kazuyuki Kumagai lightens an otherwise somber season with Attachment’s easygoing collection of both substance and style. Looking to outerwear as an important focal point, Kumagai works in old favorites like the duffel coat in reworked narrow proportions. Not abandoning luxury, the label’s penchent for leather is addressed with colorful washed leather motorcycle jackets. Meanwhile, denim and elongated tops make a strong showing dressing down looks that go either way. Generally, Attachment joins the growing number of labels who appeal to the demographic looking for pieces that compliment both conservative day-to-day looks as well as the occasional quirks that accompany spontaneity.
