The style-​​conscious civil­ian and refined mil­i­tary offi­cer come together for Day Birger et Mikkelsen’s fall out­ing. Cast­ing Texas Ols­son for the season’s look­book, a military-​​inspired color palette is accented with the sub­tle use of red for an acces­si­ble selec­tion. While fall’s offer­ings may not break the mold, they offer a wardrobe of fun­da­men­tals with a con­tem­po­rary cut that reveal a cov­etable array of out­er­wear, knits and denim.

Approach­ing the spring sea­son with a laid-​​back atti­tude, DAY Birger et Mikkelsen shows their clothes a lit­tle tough love. Enti­tled “Ship­wrecked”, the range con­sists of casual gar­ments mod­eled after the idea of a well-​​worn wardrobe wash­ing up on shore with great creases and weath­ered seams. Here, clean crisp pri­mary col­ors meet relaxed sil­hou­ettes that stress a sea­son of great accessibility.

Work­ing off the premise of only wear­ing clothes a musi­cian can carry in addi­tion to clothes that can eas­ily go from day to night, the col­lec­tion is fash­ion­ably washed and worn out. How­ever, char­coal, choco­late and navy keep the range clas­si­cally cool, while leather, vel­vet and cor­duroy add a lux­u­ri­ous appeal.
