“Dejan Despo­tovic is a young designer (born in 1986) who has man­aged to acquire a con­sid­er­able expe­ri­ence and recog­ni­tion in the last six years. In the period from 2001 to 2005, as just a stu­dent of the High tex­tile school in Bel­grade, he designed for hair fairs, tele­vi­sion shows and for school rep­re­sen­ta­tion. As one of the school rep­re­sen­ta­tives, in 2003, he received a Sil­ver Doe Award at the Bel­grade Fash­ion Fair. From the year 2005, he was a stu­dent at Col­lege for Design, Tex­tile and Man­age­ment in Bel­grade at the Tex­tile and Cloth­ing Design Depart­ment. His career got an addi­tional boost in 2006 when he cre­ated his first indi­vid­ual col­lec­tion and pre­sented it with fash­ion shows both in Bel­grade and Berlin. This was fol­lowed by a new col­lec­tion, two con­sec­u­tive nom­i­na­tions for the best young designer at the Pan­tene Beauty Awards in 2006 and 2007, the win­ning of the first prize at the Nokia Awards com­pe­ti­tion for young design­ers at Fash­ion Selec­tion and the win­ning of the Black & White com­pe­ti­tion at the open­ing of Bel­grade Fash­ion Week in 2007. Cur­rently, he is prepar­ing a new col­lec­tion and work­ing as a styl­ist for the Ser­bian edi­tion of Elle magazine.”
