Raw Ele­gance–Mak­ing the move to Milan for their Ital­ian debut, Diesel Black Gold returned to the clean-​​cut path, lend­ing clas­sic stand­bys a youth­ful edge. Bring­ing together gar­ments with unfin­ished hems, thick cable knit sweaters and pleated trousers, a vari­ety of pieces were revealed for a new wardrobe of unlikely com­pan­ions. Dress­ing jacket and vest com­bos in ver­ti­cal stripes and includ­ing the biker jacket as a wel­comed addi­tion, Diesel Black Gold brought their vision full cir­cle with a por­trayal of time­less ele­gance, mod­i­fied for today’s generation.

The Delight­ful Tide–Washed out but nev­er­the­less strik­ing, the boys of Diesel Black Gold arrived for an aquatic affair brought to land. From over­size, loose out­er­wear to metal­lic pants, paired with more for­mal pieces, Diesel brought an inter­est­ing vision to life with a sharp num­ber of ensem­bles, nar­rowed down for pre­ci­sion. How­ever small the show­ing, treated leather, cropped jack­ets and halved sleeves, zipped or unzipped pro­vided a feast for the eyes with a num­ber of stand­out gar­ments for the upcom­ing season.

Arti­sanal Rock–Inez & Vinoodh con­tinue to dom­i­nate the fall 2011 sea­son, turn­ing their lens on Diesel Black Gold for their lat­est cam­paign. Fea­tur­ing Louis Simonon, the cam­paign was shot in New York, under the cre­ative direc­tion of Sophia Kokos­alaki and Lee Swill­ing­ham. Aim­ing to con­vey an arti­sanal craft­man­ship, while still show­cas­ing a cer­tain rock ‘n’ roll atti­tude, Diesel Black Gold and the vision of Inez & Vinoodh came together as the per­fect marriage.

Shades of Gray–Diesel taps Brazil­ian model Dou­glas Neitzke for their fall 2011 Black Gold look­book. Young, mod­ern and dark, the lat­est lineup turns to gray for a trendy offer­ing of lay­ered ensem­bles. From washed den­ims and decon­structed out­er­wear to treated fab­rics, Diesel turns up the ante with paper bag waists, a play on pro­por­tions as well as gen­eral destruc­tion. Accented with pock­ets of red, fall’s col­lec­tion lights a fire to the sea­son with an acces­si­ble range for the con­tem­po­rary man.
